Drawing Activities and Games For You And Your Little Ones
There are many games and activities that can be done with just a pen and some paper. In today’s article, we will be telling you about some of our favourites and why your kids will love them!
Guess my drawing
A classic drawing game for all ages. For this game, you will need to create a number of cards that have names of things that you can draw on them. Your friends and family must guess what you are drawing/ have drawn within a time limit (if you so desire, that part is entirely up to you!). If someone guesses correctly, then they have scored a point. The score limit is also your choice, you can play this game for as long as you wish!
To make it easier for smaller kids, we suggest teaming up if you can so you can give them a helping hand with reading and telling them what they can draw. Our activity tables are perfect settings for a game like this!
Pass the drawing
For this game, you will need a few pieces of paper, a pen and a timer. To begin, the first person will draw whatever like on the paper within a specified time limit. Once that time limit is up, the pen and paper must be passed on to the next person for them to add to the drawing in any way they please (yet again, within the set time limit)! You can have as many rounds as you like with as many players as you want until you have completed your collaborative masterpiece.
Children of all ages will love creating mix and matched drawings with their siblings and friends with this simple, yet creative drawing game.
Obviously young children won’t be able to create photorealistic portraits of others, but they can have tonnes of fun regardless. Have them draw or paint portraits of another member of the family and let them be creative with how they do it. They can draw silly faces or even give the portrait a customised outfit of their choice. It’s a great way to get your kids to be imaginative and get their artistic minds working. Here at Yeti Toys we have a great selection of easels to choose from with our favourite being the 4 in1 Euro Easel from Tikk Tokk. This product has an adjustable height, therefore it is perfect for children of all ages and can be used by all the family.
Ask your little one(s) to draw the things that they are most excited about when quarantine is over. Whether it’s visiting their family, going out to the park or playing with their friends. It will help keep their spirits up during this strange time as well as getting them to be imaginative with what they want to do to once this is all done. Add a little more creativity into the mix and turn their drawings into small books so that they can be looked back on in the future.
Our White and Pine play table and stool is a great choice for this activity. It comes with a roll of paper which can be pulled out and spread across the width of the table giving your children plenty of space to get creative.
Give these fun activities a try over the coming weeks and maybe try coming up with some fun drawing games for yourself. As always, take all precautions with any equipment and remember to stay home and stay safe during this difficult time.
